Active Satellite Tags Click on the names below to access data, maps and information about each tagged marine animal.
These satellite tagging units can be used in learning many concepts listed in the frameworks and national standards: geography, habitat use by organisms, math concepts, map skills, comprehensive reading, and more.
The active tags are listed below, and over 135 archived satellite tagging events are listed in the archive page.
More Satellite tags are planned. STOP back often. We have more tags scheduled. We also have a large number of archived data from previous satellite tagging events.

Note about tag fixes:
- The position data (lat/long fixes) received is sometimes in decimal fractions of a whole degree, such as 30.50N degrees. To calculate the degree and minutes equivalent, multiply the decimal fraction times 60 minutes/degree, such as .50 x 60 = 30 minutes. In the case of 30.50 degrees, this equals 30 degrees and 30 minutes.
